Short Pay! All Out!

Be sure to visit the physical component to this exhibit: "Short Pay! All Out!" presented by the Lawrence History Center. The exhibit is located on the 6th floor of the Everett Mill (15 Union St., Lawrence, MA) and will be open Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 11am to 3pm and by appointment with the Lawrence History Center, 978-686-9230. Admission is free!

The exhibit is located in the very mill where the strike first began 100 years ago. Unlike the online exhibit seen here, the physical exhibit is not intended to display the exhaustive history of the strike but rather as a space that provokes thoughts and conversations related to the themes of the strike of 1912. The views of the city of Lawrence from the exhibit space are awe-inspriring and the raw nature of the former textile factory has an emotional effect. The space holds two murals done by Lawrence High School students and contains space for a rotation of various Bread & Roses strike-related exhibits. Groups, lectures, classes, performance, meetings, and gatherings of considerable size can be held in the exhibit space, please call the Lawrence History Center for booking information.
